Dive California โ€“ Cancellation, Rescheduling & No-Show Policy

We understand plans can change. Because our tours and courses run with small groups, late cancellations prevent other divers from joining. These policies help us stay fair, safe, and reliable for everyone.


๐Ÿ“‹ General Policy

72-hour cancellation policy โ€” strictly enforced (no exceptions).

When you provide your credit card to reserve a spot, you agree to the terms on this page. Due to limited availability, we cannot absorb last-minute cancellations or no-shows.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Tours โ€” Cancellation Notice
  • More than 72 hours before the start time: 10% cancellation fee.
  • Within 72 hours of the start time or No-Show: 100% fee (no refund).
  • All bookings are subject to a 10% cancellation fee when canceled in advance.
๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Tours โ€” Rescheduling & Weather

We may reschedule or cancel for unsafe ocean/weather conditions, guide availability, or other unforeseen events.

If a dive is canceled or rescheduled 72+ hours before your date, or canceled by the Dive Guide for safety or weather, youโ€™ll receive a full refund.

Cancellations are accepted only during business hours: 9:00 AM โ€“ 6:00 PM, 7 days/week.

Voicemail messages are not accepted as valid cancellations.

๐Ÿฉบ Tours โ€” Medical Requirements

If you answer โ€œYesโ€ on your scuba medical waiver, a doctorโ€™s clearance is required before your dive. Without it, you will not be permitted to dive and no refund will be issued.

๐ŸŽ Tours โ€” Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Balances may be used toward Dive California tours, courses, or in-store purchases.

๐Ÿ“š Courses โ€” Cancellation & Rescheduling

Our 72-hour cancellation policy applies to all courses. Schedules are arranged in advance and late changes are difficult to accommodate.

  • Less than 7 days before your course: transfer to another date by paying a 25% administrative fee.
  • Within 72 hours of start or No-Show: 100% fee (no refund).
๐Ÿ”’ Courses โ€” Private Courses

Private courses are non-refundable as dates are reserved exclusively. If we can fill your spot, weโ€™ll move your booking to a new date minus a 20% administration fee.

โฑ๏ธ Courses โ€” Missed Sessions

Miss a class for reasons other than weather? You can make it up on a future course date for $100 per day.

๐Ÿ’ป Courses โ€” eLearning Materials

PADI eLearning materials are non-refundable, whether used or unused.

๐ŸŒŠ Courses โ€” Weather, Safety & Minimum Enrollment

We may reschedule or cancel for unsafe diving conditions, weather, or unforeseen events. Weโ€™ll move you to the next available course that fits your schedule or provide a full refund of deposits and fees.

If fewer than three students are registered, we may reschedule with at least one weekโ€™s notice and help you select a new date.

๐Ÿฉบ๐ŸŠ Courses โ€” Medical & Swim Requirements

If required by your medical form, you must provide a doctorโ€™s clearance before your course begins. Without it, you cannot participate and no refund will be issued.

Students who cannot swim or complete required dives are not eligible for refunds.

  • Dive Californiaโ€™s cancellation policy overrides prior credit card agreements with your card provider.
