Private / Custom Courses

Need to get certified in a short time frame or do you have a complicated schedule?  Here at Dive California we offer strictly PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE Scuba Diving Instruction. This means ONLY  you or YOUR private group of maximum 4 students. This will ensure that we can give you the personal and specialized attention you need to become a comfortable, confident and safe scuba diver.

You tell us your scheduling restrictions and we'll do our very best to accommodate your busy work or vacation schedule. We are happy to customize your instruction needs to fit time restrictions and privacy concerns. We can get you certified within as little as 3 or as many as  4-5 days without you ever felling rushed.

Private courses are scheduled around your and your instructor's schedules. Enjoy the one-on-one instruction, the personalized attention and more time underwater diving.


  • The ONE-ON-ONE Private Scuba Certification $1250

  • The SEMI-PRIVATE Scuba Certification (2-4 students) $750 per person

Course Pre-Requisites

  • Minimum age: 12 years old by the time of course orientation*
  • Able to swim 200 yards and tread water/float for 10 minutes
  • Reasonable good health or cleared by a medical physician
  • Purchase or provide your own Personal Dive & Safety Equipment suitable for Scuba usage
  • Students younger than 15 years of age will receive a Junior Open Water certification
  • *Personal Dive Equipment (Scuba Grade): Mask, Snorkel, Boots, Fins, Gloves, (SMB) Surface Marker Buoy.


     Required Scuba Equipment and Materials

Dive California does not require you to purchase your personal snorkel gear package as other dive shops do,  but owning your own personal fitted equipment like mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves and SMB will surely make your diving experience much more comfortable. You will have the opportunity to choose these items at our location of classroom and pool if you so desire.
